What to expect at CDL Mega

Our knowledgeable and friendly office staff will help you thru the training process and answer any questions you might have. Our experienced instructors are experts in their fields and have real-world experience that they bring into the training.

Step 1:To enroll at CDL Mega Driving School, you must be 18 years of age and have a valid Illinois driver's license and a Social Security number. Enjoy a flexible schedule created by you! Training can begin immediately!

Step 2:Once you are enrolled, we will begin with 40 hours of training for the permit. You will utilize computers, books and videos to study for your written exam. The exam is then taken at your local Secretary of State CDL Facility.

Step 3:After passing the written exam, you will start training for the Pre-trip inspection and Observation portion of the course, where you will learn all of the mechanical parts of the truck. Class schedule and materials are given to you, with the duration of the course lasting 88 hours.

Step 4:Skill and Road lessons are next. Both lessons are 16 hours in length. A total of 32 hours in driving time is also required for the Skills and Roads lessons. Driving times are between 7am and 9pm 6 days a week.

Step 5:Finally, the students are tested by our instructors before they take the Final Exam with Secretary of State officals at our driving facility.

Step 6:GRADUATE!! Receive your certifications and begin your career as a Commercial Driver.
